Sue Homrok-Lemke - New Church Council Chair

While previously reading Karen Matheson’s article about Jen Acheson, it occurred to me once again that there aren’t many folks who could seamlessly step into our immediate past Church Council Chair, Jen Acheson’s “Get Stuff Done” socks, but Sue Homrok-Lemke certainly can. I know because I’ve had the pleasure of living next door to her since we moved to Simsbury.

However, our relationship started earlier than that when she volunteered to help Woody Eddins submit Isaac’s Squadron Line paperwork. At the time, I had no idea how easy that would be for a former Henry James Middle School principal or an assistant superintendent of schools. Of course, getting to know Sue, her husband Eric (a retired Hartford Detective), and their two daughters, Maleita and Maeve, means that even were her resume not as impressive, I would still be beyond thrilled to have her join our leadership team at SUM in the role of Church Council Chair.

Able to juggle multiple items at the same time, and offer great feedback and thought partnership for other leaders all while wielding an excellent sense of humor means that we will be well served. Thanks, Sue, and welcome aboard!
