Join us for an amazing experience you do for others that ends up fulfilling you.

If you participated in a SUM meal packing event, you know how it works – we gather together and assemble dry ingredients to make bags of nutritious soup that are donated to local food banks as well as refugees from Ukraine.  It sounds mechanical, like working in a factory assembly line.  And it is.  But it’s also an opportunity to meet new people – to see their eyes smile and to get to know others in our community that also want to give of themselves.  These are good people to know – joyful, generous people from all walks of life; kids small enough to need a step stool standing next to Great-Grandparents.

Our events were so successful that we’ve made it an annual event.  Our next one is on Saturday April 27, 2024. We’ll have three volunteer shifts every hour until we are done, e.g. 9-10 AM, 10-11AM, 11 AM-noon.

If you’re able to make a contribution, we would deeply appreciate it.  $75 provides enough to cover the efforts of one volunteer for one hour.  The more funds we raise, the more volunteers can participate and more food gets to those who need it.

If you’re able to volunteer your time, we would love to have you for one, two or three hours!  Spread the word to family and friends and encourage them to join us, too.  This is a community effort where we will invite others to experience one of the many wonderful things we do here at SUM!
