Are you facing a personal crisis?

Our Stephen Ministers are here to help.

Stephen Ministry is a one-to-one caring ministry serving the congregations of SUM and Avon's Memorial UMC. We provide confidential, one-to-one, Christ-centered care for people going through an extended difficult time. Stephen ministers are equipped and empowered by 50 hours of training, monthly continuing education and supervision to provide confidential, Christ-centered care and support to people who might be experiencing grief, divorce, job loss, chronic or terminal illness or some other life crisis. Currently there are over a dozen Stephen Ministers in the program.
